Biographical information:
Since school, I've been...
Well since Marcia said I sounded dull in my original entries, I've redone them to make her life happier. Immediately after high school, I did as most of us and attended Columbus College until I got a wild hair to go to beauty school to become a hairdresser. Got tired of standing on my feet all day and partying all night so I became an emergency dispatcher for a private ambulance service in Columbus where I also happened to meet my husband Greg. We married in 1992 and in 1996, we moved to the big metropolis of Lumpkin, GA where Greg is Chief of the Stewart County EMS/Fire/Rescue services. I began working as a dispatcher for the Sheriff as well as being appointed the assistant Magistrate judge of the county. Yes, I was a judge! Scary isn't it? Then I accepted a position with TSYS in Columbus where I still reside today.
My family:
I married Greg Stewart in 1992. You don't know him as he is from Harris County as well as being 8 years behind us. So when we were gradutating, he was in 4th grade? Anyway, after two miscarriages we were blessed with our son Ian born in 1998. He is his mother's child - he has the quick wit, sense of humor, and those deep dimples. He is currently into karate and briefly renamed himself Ian Chan. Then in 1992, we were surprised with our daughter Emily. Actually the surprise came a couple of weeks after our 20 year reunion when I found out I was pregnant. I thought I was through with that birthin babies thing. But Emily is not like her mother (except for the loves to talk thing). She is VERY prissy, high maintenance, and rules the roost. Both my children were delivered by Jay Stewart's brother Tommy. Our running joke is we had to keep it in the family.
Life experiences:
Getting married and staying that way for over 13 years so far; seeing both my children's hearts beat for the first time and then seeing them in person for the first time; and just being able to get up everyday to continue to experience life.
My favorite things in school:
I don't think it was so much "what" as "who". I enjoyed going to the biggest daily social event of the year and seeing my friends, making new ones, and all that entailed. And being able to have most of those friends still in my life makes me one lucky person. But here are a few that come to mind: the rock quarry, Big Kris' red truck; Andy's VW Thing; Donkey Basketball; Marcia's driving; trying to teach Jean Swartout the concept of grits and that you cannot have just one grit; the Blues Mobile (along with the brothers); Shakey's Pizza; Darrel Hardy yelling "who loves you baby?" from his front yard;
My favorite things now:
Hang out with the family, arts and crafts, sewing, talking to and hanging out with old friends, and whatever sounds interesting and fun to do. Just take it one day at a time. And of course UGA football on Saturdays in the Fall.
My favorite books, movies and music:
Music is varied as to style and artists, but there ain't nothin like a Skynyrd song to bring back some good memories. Books are for furthering my knowledge in an interest. Movies are too many to mention but there is nothing like a good comedy.
I work at:
