Since school, I've been...
The day after graduation, my family and I moved to Atlanta. I attended Georgia Tech and graduated in 1989 with a Bachelors in Industrial Engineering. I entered the Air Force right after college and was stationed in Warner Robins, GA (so much for seeing the world). After leaving the Air Force, I started working for Delta Air Lines and as of today (10/08/06), I still work for Delta. I am currently a dispatcher for Delta but have had many other jobs in the almost 15 years that I've been here. |
My family:
I married my husband, David, in 2000. We have a 3 year daughter named Emilie. She is absolutely amazing. My father passed away in 2003 just a month before Emilie was born. My mom lives with us now and watches Emilie for us. My sister (1980 Shaw grad) lives in Washington state and my brother (1982 Shaw grad) just retired from the US Army and lives in Colorado Springs. |
Life experiences:
Being an Army brat and growing up in Germany as a young child had a great impact on who I was in high school and college. Meeting and marrying my husband (I can't say enough about how great that is so I will leave it at that). Taking care of my parents' personal matters after my father's stroke brought me closer to my parents. Losing my father before my daughter was born was difficult, but I know he sees her every day from heaven. The birth of my daughter and almost losing her makes me realize how precious life is and how lucky I am that she is still with us. |
My favorite things in school:
I admit it, I was a nerd. I enjoyed participating in any academic competition Shaw signed up for. I enjoyed JV basketball practice as a freshman and playing on the golf team as a freshman when my brother was a senior on the team, but I didn't like getting beaned by the ball on my thigh twice in one season (same thigh both times). Studying in the library at lunch time instead of eating lunch in the lunch room. |
My favorite things now:
I love to travel which is great since I work for Delta. We really enjoy going to Grand Junction, Colorado where my husband is from. We're hoping to move there in the very near future. |
